Recovering an Old Lineage 2 Essence Account: What Is Possible
Can you recover an old Lineage 2 Essence account? What support can and cannot restore, what to prepare before contacting them, and why many players restart instead.
New players on the Mint server get a 3-star spellbook gift after character creation. Desktop EU players only; no download needed to create the account.
Every week, returning players ask the same question: "can I get my old account back?" The answer depends on what you still have, and on which of two very different things you actually want — the login, or the character.
What support can usually restore
- Access to an account you can prove is yours — typically via the email address it was registered to, or through the publisher's account recovery flow.
- Items lost to a verified technical problem, if you have evidence and report it inside the publisher's stated window.
What support will not do
- Restore deleted characters on request. Deletion is usually permanent by design.
- Transfer characters between servers or accounts. That would break the game's economy and is almost never offered.
- Reverse trades, sales or "I gave my account to a friend" situations. Account sharing is normally against the rules, so recovering from it is not a support case.
Prepare this before you contact support
- The email address registered to the account — this is the single most important item.
- Any character names, server names and rough dates you remember.
- Any payment receipts or confirmation emails from the period.
- Your country and, if asked, identification matching the account holder.
Write it all down before you open a ticket. Support sessions that stall are almost always the ones where the player is digging through old mail between replies.
The calculation most returning players make
Even in the best case — you recover the login — you inherit a character on an old server, with an outdated build and gear from a patch cycle that no longer exists. Compare that to starting fresh on a current server, where you are competing with people at your own level and playing current content from day one.
Recover the account if you have memories, clan contacts or items that matter to you. Restart if what you actually want is to play the game again. Those are different goals, and confusing them is why so many returning players stall for weeks and then decide the game is not for them.
